After the vehicle was completed, it was time to unveil it! On December 7, 2013, 'All Dolled Up' was unveiled at Northside Fiat. There was great food, drinks, cupcakes, live music and of course, the car! Mix 96.5 FM was also there to represent. The response was incredible!
This car took 6 months to complete. See the finished results:
After the body was reassembled, it was time to crystal. Over 12,000 Swarovski crystals set by hand... one by one. The interior was also reupholstered in a white and pink Alcantara fabric. The shift boot is a creme colored leather with pink stitching and an officially license Barbie '500' Shift Knob. The steering wheel is also stitched in pink.
Once everything was painted, it was time to put it back together. However, there was still a lot of work to do including wet sanding, buffing and polishing.
Once the vehicle was completely disassembled, it was time for paint. The body was sanded down and prepped for paint. We chose a candy color pink for the paint. It took 6 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear.
After the break-in period, it was time to get to work. The first step was to disassemble the Fiat.
This car was a challenge to find as it had to have exact specifications to make this project work. At the start of our project, there were only 2 Fiats in the United States that had the specifics we were needing. We found a Verde Chairo 500 Lounge in Kansas City and it shipped to Northside Fiat. The specs included:
- 500 Lounge with a 5 speed manual transmission
- Optional upgraded Lounge Wheels - Sunroof
- Cloth interior - Convenience Package
